After booking, you will receive an e-ticket with two important references. Knowing how to use them lets you verify your booking, pick seats and check in without visiting an office.
1. PNR vs ticket number
The PNR (booking reference) is a 6-character code such as X7K2QP, used to manage your booking. The e-ticket number is a 13-digit number that starts with the airline’s code, for example 176 for Emirates or 214 for PIA. Both appear on your e-ticket PDF.
2. Verify your booking on the airline website
Go to the airline’s “Manage booking” page, enter the PNR and your surname exactly as on the ticket, and check the flights, names and baggage allowance. An issued ticket will show a ticket number; a booking on hold will not.
3. Online check-in
Online check-in usually opens 24 to 48 hours before departure, depending on the airline. You will need passport details and, for some destinations, visa details. Download or save the boarding pass, but note that some routes from Pakistan still require document checks at the counter.
4. At the airport
Even with online check-in, arrive at least 3 hours before an international flight. Use the bag-drop counter if you have checked luggage, then proceed to immigration and security.
Summary
If the airline website does not show your booking, or a name looks wrong, message us your PNR and we will check it straight away.
