1. Non-stop options
PIA flies non-stop from Islamabad and Lahore to London Heathrow and Manchester; direct Lahore–London flights resumed on 30 March 2026. British Airways flies non-stop between Islamabad and London Gatwick. Non-stop flights save around 3 to 6 hours compared with a connection.
2. One-stop via the Gulf
Emirates (via Dubai), Qatar Airways (via Doha), Etihad (via Abu Dhabi), Gulf Air (via Bahrain) and Oman Air (via Muscat) connect Pakistani cities with London, Manchester and other UK airports. They often have the widest choice of daily times and competitive fares in the off-season.
3. Turkish Airlines via Istanbul
Turkish Airlines connects Islamabad, Lahore and Karachi with UK airports through Istanbul Airport. Its EcoFly, ExtraFly and PrimeFly packages trade price against baggage and flexibility.
4. Baggage is the hidden difference
British Airways Basic fares include hand baggage only, while Standard and higher include a checked bag. Emirates includes 20 to 35 kg depending on fare type, and Qatar Airways 20 to 35 kg on weight-concept routes. For a family carrying gifts, a slightly dearer fare with more baggage is often better value than buying extra bags later.
5. Flexibility for students and visitors
If your visa or university start date may shift, choose a fare with free or cheap changes, such as Emirates Flex Plus, Qatar Airways Economy Comfort or BA Select, which allows free changes and a full refund for a fee.
